So there are may ways that is has been a while. First and most obvious, I haven't blogged in a while. That being said, I've been pretty busy with the other to dos in my life. Here are a few.
It's been a while since I weighed less than 210lbs. In November 2010, I weighed slightly over 230... okay closer to 235 (or even 240 - who really knows I stopped weighing myself). A neighbor of mine suggested I should look into competing in a triathlon as a way to get back into shape. I really didn't think I had the time, nor the energy, but I thought I would give it a shot. My goal is to weigh less than 200 by the time of the event... July 24th... On that day I weighed in at 205 which meant I lost around 35lbs give or take a few... Overall, I had a good experience, and I really enjoyed training and getting back into shape. I also think i had decent times for my first triathlon and I think I have room for improvement next year. Here are my official stats if you wanna know...
* Swim: 18:43 (56th), T1:2.03.50; Bike: 42.46, (41st); Run: 30:36, (34th); 6th (out of 16) in 30-34, 37th for men (out of 73), and 57th overall out of (146)...
...now I will am going to start training for a 1/2 Marathon that will happen in exactly 8 weeks, hopefully another 10lbs will make it easier to run the 13.1 miles. So by then I hope to be around 190... we shall see... in the end it is all about feeling good which I can say is exactly how I am feeling...
BTW - .I also made it on T.V. twice during the news Sunday night (you'd never recognize me so here are the details... http://www.ketv.com/news/28652012/detail.html ---:16-:19 in the swim... 2nd from the bottom- see the guy right next to the dock, I am the guy just above him... my stroke looks horrible. Then as I was headed out on the bike at 1:23, I am wearing the grey shirt.
It's been a while since my partner and I had to change diapers, but that is all changed July 13th. We've heard that the second one is easier, but also more difficult. I'm not sure how that can be, but I am sure we will find out. This is a shout out for our new little boy Garrett Wayne Crichton!
It has been a while since I had a chance to go fishing, but Memorial Day weekend, I was able to catch some tasty Bass... well I guess I don't know if they were tasty as I had to throw them back (pond rules) but it was fun. My son also caught his first fish, and I was so proud of him for actually holding it. He is too much fun sometimes.
